Woman Acquitted In Slaying of Violent Husband
TURIN, Italy (AP) _ A woman who stabbed her husband to death in front of their three children is free after a prosecutor dropped the case, saying it was fitting for a violent life to end ″on the point of a knife.″
Regina Micheletta Giot’s husband, Cisimo Camon, was described in court as a malicious drug addict who often beat his wife during their 13-year marriage and sometimes turned on their children.
During an outburst by Camon on Jan. 16, Giot stabbed him in the stomach, according to police. Camon died on the way to the hospital.
Giot was freed late Friday, but said she would not return to the home she shared with Camon. She spent Saturday with relatives.
