CAPWN hosting Community Baby Shower
GERING — UnitedHealthcare Community Plan of Nebraska and Community Action Partnership of Western Nebraska are hosting a Community Baby Shower for expectant moms and new parents at Community Action Partnership of Western Nebraska’s Health Center in Gering on Saturday.
The baby shower will include presentations about prenatal care, well-baby care and the importance of getting babies immunized. Attendees will have the opportunity to participate in an educational presentation. Healthy snacks and refreshments will be provided.
Attendees will also receive information about UnitedHealthcare’s Baby Blocks, a free online wellness-incentive program. Baby Blocks helps parents manage doctor visits and other baby care during pregnancy and the first 15 months of a child’s life. The program sends users email appointment alerts and wellness-related text messages, connects users directly with maternity nurses, and rewards users for keeping appointments. Rewards include gift cards to retail outlets, and maternity-related items such as teething rings, diaper bags and thermometers.
The event will be from 10 a.m. to noon, Community Action Partnership of Western Nebraska, 976 Crescent Dr.
