Pedestrian flown to Vegas after being hit by car
A woman was flown to Las Vegas for treatment of life-threatening injuries after she was struck Sunday afternoon by a car. Lake Havasu City Police say the pedestrian, identified only as a woman in her 50s, was knocked to the ground by the car while walking in the 4100 block of Mercury Drive. The female driver of the passenger car was backing out of her driveway and didn’t see the woman walking behind her car, police said. The victim was treated at Havasu Regional Medical Center but was later flown to a Las Vegas hospital for further treatment. No citations have been issued, but the accident remains under investigation. Police said speed and impairment don’t appear to be factors in the accident.
