Giants’ Garnes Out of Hospital
EAST RUTHERFORD, N.J. (AP) _ New York Giants safety Sam Garnes will have a post-concussion evaluation Tuesday to determine whether he can play this weekend against Philadelphia.
Garnes, injured in the fourth quarter of the Giants’ 21-16 victory over Arizona on Sunday, still had lingering headaches and some memory loss after being released from the Hospital for Special Surgery, where he was held overnight for observation.
``Right now I think I probably won’t play, but I’m going to fight to the end,″ Garnes said after returning to Giants Stadium on Monday. ``I’m here to play football and I can’t have my boys go out there by themselves.″
Garnes was knocked out for about 30 seconds after colliding with teammate Jessie Armstead trying to break up a pass. Armstead seemed to hit Garnes on the side of the head.
``I just know I was going toward the middle, that’s the last thing I remember,″ Garnes said.
