Another Use For Guantanamo Camp

September 9, 2018

Editor: As an American citizen, I have been a quiet advocate to close the prison camp at Guantanamo Bay, Cuba. Many high-profile GOP party members, who have had congressional power for the last eight years, chose to keep it open. I have come to realize that they are correct; it should be kept available for various reasons. With all the indictments and guilty pleas coming out from the “swamp” in Washington, D.C., and the recent exposure of the clergy abuses in Pennsylvania (with possibly more to come from other states), the use of the Gitmo facility would serve as “poetic justice” to many of the victims. And besides, it would take off the pressure of overcrowding federal prisons, like Allenwood. John Kashatus Jr. NANTICOKE
