Havasu to close Cypress Park for overseeding of grass
The park will be closed Sept. 10 through Oct. 19. According to a press release from the city, overseeding reduces erosion, improves appearance, increases thickness and decreases the need for chemicals.
“The City appreciates the public’s patience and compliance of all posted signs by staying off the closed grass areas and fields to allow the grass to properly grow,” a press release states. “The grass and fields are expected to reopen for public use and access on Saturday, October 20.”
Cypress Park opened in March and features 210,000 square feet of sod, a full-size regulation soccer field, up to three more soccer fields in various sizes, a playground with zip line, restroom, shaded areas and 2,050 feet of walking path around the perimeter.
