American Heart Association To Hold Free Healthy Cooking Demonstration

The American Heart Association will hold a free Simple Cooking with Heart healthy cooking demonstration from 5 to 7 p.m. today in the Wilkes-Barre General Hospital cafeteria. The event is being held in celebration of American Heart Association’s Eat Smart Month, a part of the organization’s Healthy for Good Movement, which inspires Americans to live healthier lives and create lasting health changes. Jeff Tiernan, executive chef at Harvest Season Grill & Wine Bar in Moosic will lead the demonstration, accompanied by cardiothoracic surgeon Dr. Steven Marra, who will be sharing information about the importance of healthy eating. The demonstration will feature three courses of simple and healthy seasonal recipes. Guests will have the opportunity to sample the dishes as well as take home recipes and other educational material.
