Teen Pauline, Lion D N A win Big A stakes
NEW YORK (AP) — Teen Pauline and Lion D N A started the new year with victories in the $100,000 filly and mare stakes Wednesday at Aqueduct.
Teen Pauline led all the way in the Affectionately, beating Centring by 4¾ lengths for her third win in nine starts. Irad Ortiz, Jr. was aboard for trainer Todd Pletcher as Teen Pauline ran 1 1/16 miles in 1:45.64. The 4-year-old paid $8 to win.
Trainer Rudy Rodriguez got his third win of the afternoon when Lion D N A edged Fantasy of Flight by a half length in the six-furlong Interborough. Chuckie Lopez guided the 5-year-old to her seventh victory in 27 starts, paying $7.90 to win.
The time was 1:11.88.
