QUEENSBURY, N.Y. (AP) — An upstate New York man accused of abducting a woman and her 3-year-old daughter at knifepoint will spend up to seven years in prison.

Prosecutors say 22-year-old Miguel Medrano-Garcia has pleaded guilty to a count of coercion.

According to The Post-Star , police say the man abducted the woman and her child in March and took them to a motel in Queensbury, where the woman called 911.

Authorities say Medrano-Garcia held a knife to the child's face and neck and locked himself in a car with her. He surrendered after a standoff with police.

No serious injuries were reported.
