Wagener woman charged in connection with burglary, assault
A Wagener woman was charged Sunday in connection with a burglary on Triangle Drive on Friday.
Sherrie Renee Perkins, 32, of the 200 block of Holley Street, is charged with first-degree burglary, third-degree assault and battery and malicious injury to personal property, according to jail records.
Aiken County Sheriff’s Office deputies responded to Triangle Drive around 11:40 p.m. Friday and met with the 26-year-old victim who claimed the suspect showed up at her home and came inside without permission.
The victim said the suspect entered the home with a stick, which the suspect used to cause damage to the victim’s television.
During the disturbance, the suspect then started assaulting the victim with the stick, hitting her in the face and cheek area.
Perkins was arrested Friday and taken to the Aiken County detention center, where she is still being held Tuesday morning.
