EAST RUTHERFORD, N.J. (AP) _ Rick Stafford talied 29 points and teammate Jim Hajdukovich added 20 as Alaska-Anchorage won the consolation game Monday in the fifth Seton Hall/Meadowlands Tournament beating the University of San Francisco, 92-70.

In improving their record to 8-5 the Division II Seawolves led all the way after opening the game with three-point baskets by Ryan Williams and Stafford.

Alaska-Anchorage scored 11 of the game’s first 13 points _ six by Stafford and five by Williams _ and by the midway point in the first half had opened a 31-13 lead.

San Francisco, which dropped its third straight and fell to 4-7 overall, cut the deficit to 52-37 at the half and tallied four of the first six points after the intermission to pull within 54-41.

But Alaska-Anchorage outscored San Francisco 21-3 over the next eight minutes to open a 75-44 lead and the Dons were never able to cut the gap to less than 22 points the rest of the way.

Stafford, who made all five three-point shots he attempted, had six points in the decisive second half spurt while Hajdukovich, who was five of eight from the arc, had a pair of treys.

Williams finished with 14 points for the Seawolves who hit on 60.4 percent (32-53) of their shots and were 12-19 of threes.

Mark Nees and Hakeem Ward each had 13 for USF which shot 49 percent (25-51) from the field.
