Memorial Fund Set Up For Family Of Dorrance Twp. Explosion Victims
A fundraiser to help remaining family members impacted by an explosion at the family home in Dorrance Twp. has raised more than $7,200 in three days.
Brian Rachel Heinrich Young set up the memorial fund on Facebook benefiting Bryan Hedgepeth, who lost both his parents in the explosion on Alberdeen Road, on Friday with a goal of $10,000. Ester Rupp Hedgepeth, 66, and Eugene W. Hedgepeth, 77, were killed during the explosion.
Another brother, Nathan Hedgepeth, 20, suffered moderate injuries in the blasts and was taken to a hospital. His condition wasn’t available, but a Facebook post asked for donations of clothing for him as well any other household items.
Nearly 100 people have donated to the memorial fund, which can be accessed here at www.facebook.com/donate/594744981010746/834056913593875/.
A GoFundMe fund started Friday has been deactivated, in favor of the fund set up by the family on Facebook. Funds raised will go to the family, a post said.
State police have not yet released a cause for the fire and explosion.
