Cross country: Lake Mills girls 2nd at Bruess Invitational

MONROE — Lake Mills placed its first five runners in the top 15 to place second at the Bruess Invitational hosted by Monroe at Twining Park on Monday.

Senior Stacie Dressel on the shortened 3,600-meter course, placing sixth overall and fifth in team scoring with a time of 15 minutes, 49.2 seconds. She beat sophomore teammate Jade Pitta (seventh, 15:49.3) by one-hundredth of a second.

Sophomores Lauren Winslow (11th, 16:02), Brooke Fair (15th, 16:11) and Reese Wille (16th, 16:12) completed the team scoring for the L-Cats.

The boys also ran on a shortened 3,600-meter course.

Lake Mills finished 13th with a 350 score.

Seniors Ethan Lewellin (54th, 15:10), Abe Flores (71st, 15:53), Jesse Ritter (72nd, 15:55) and Ian Behling (75th, 16:07), and sophomore Jaren Laws (78th, 16:17) all scored for the L-Cats.

Lake Mills runs at the University of Wisconsin-Parkside Invitational on Saturday.
