MANKATO-LANDSLIDE STUDY

MANKATO, Minn. — A study has determined that nearly 500 landslides have happened in the Mankato area in recent years. SENT: 350 words.

AIR AMBULANCE CRASH

BISMARCK, N.D. — At least 39 North Dakota ambulance services plan to participate in a Monday procession as part of a memorial for three people killed in an air ambulance crash near Bismarck. Kelly Dollinger, president of the North Dakota Emergency Medical Services Association, said the procession is also “bound to see” ambulances from other states such as Minnesota, Montana and South Dakota. EXCHANGE-OFFICER HELPS HOMELESS

ST. PAUL, Minn. — A St. Paul police officer is helping homeless residents. The day after city officials shut down a homeless camp near Cathedral Hill, St. Paul police officer Dean Koehnen is finding the campers again. It’s part of his job. Koehnen is there to make things go smoothly — or at least a little less rough — for his acquaintances. Some of whom he’s known for years. By Tad Vezner, St. Paul Pioneer Press. EXCHANGE-VINE CRUSADE

WINONA, Minn. — Minnesota residents are tackling a killer vine with handsaws and herbicides. Anne Morse, Winona County’s sustainability coordinator, is leading efforts to eradicate a vine called Oriental bittersweet before it takes down more of the region’s trees.
