Pet Connection, Sept. 27

September 28, 2018

Santa Fe Animal Shelter & Humane Society: Bono, a 4-month-old shorthaired kitten, is a super-sweet guy who is lots of fun to be around. He enjoys people and his cuddle time. Peko, a handsome boy who weighs about 70 pounds, loves to play. He is great on walks and enjoys people. He may be part boxer.

These and other animals are available for adoption from the shelter at 100 Caja del Rio Road. The shelter’s adoption hours are from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. daily. Visit adoptable animals in the community during the shelter’s weekend mobile adoption events: from noon to 3 p.m. Saturday, PetSmart Santa Fe, 3561 Zafarano Drive; and from noon to 3 p.m. Sunday, Teca Tu in the DeVargas Center. Visit www.sfhumanesociety.org or call 505-983-4309, ext. 1610.

Española Humane: Zim, a 4-month-old Labrador mix, is a sweet but shy boy. He will need someone to help him gain his confidence. He gets along well with other dogs and might do well with another dog. Felicia is an adorable female dog about 12 weeks old. She’s great with people and other dogs and has a high energy level and would do best with an active family. She’s a gorgeous, happy girl.

These and other animals are available for adoption at the shelter, 108 Hamm Parkway. The shelter is open from 10:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. daily. Call 505-753-8662 or visit www.evalleyshelter.org.

Felines & Friends: Colleen is a very loving, social cat who will fit in with just about any home. As a tortie mix, she would probably be a better match for a male cat rather than a female cat. Chelsea came to the rescue from another shelter and was tiny and undernourished, but is doing well now. She is a sweet, social kitten who loves to play with other kittens.

Cats of all ages are available for adoption from Felines & Friends; visit them at Teca Tu in the DeVargas Center, Petco on Cerrillos Road and Santa Fe Cats. Adoption advisers are available from 1 to 4 p.m. Thursday through Sunday at Petco. For more information, call 505-316-CAT1 or visit www.fandfnm.org.

The Horse Shelter: Garth, a 3-year-old gelding, has a great personality and has been progressing well in training. Garth can get spooky at new objects, but always tries hard to figure it out with the help of the rider. He can walk trot and lope comfortably and is learning to give to the bit. He will require an intermediate rider.
