NEW YORK (AP) _ Kara Wolters scored 19 points as top-ranked Connecticut remained unbeaten with a 75-53 victory over St. John’s on Saturday.
Nykesha Sales added 15 points for UConn (16-0, 8-0 Big East).
Andrijana Bedalov had 14 points and nine rebounds for St. John’s (4-12, 2-6), which lost its seventh straight.
The Huskies led 46-20 at halftime, and increased the margin to 54-24 early in the second half. UConn coach Geno Auriemma then started substituting freely.
Ana Pericic hit a 3-pointer to give St. John’s its only lead of the game at 3-2. UConn then scored 13 consecutive points to take a 15-3 lead, and was in command the rest of the way.
