Funeral plans for South Carolina church shooting victims
CHARLESTON, S.C. (AP) — Several funerals and other services have been set for the nine people slain in a shooting at Emanuel African Methodist Episcopal Church in Charleston, South Carolina.

On Wednesday, the casket of state Sen. Clementa Pinckney, the pastor of Emanuel AME, was in the rotunda lobby of the South Carolina Capitol for a public viewing.
Two other public viewings will be held Thursday: from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. at St. John African Methodist Episcopal Church in Ridgeland, and from 6-8 p.m. at Emanuel AME in Charleston.
Pinckney’s funeral is at 11 a.m. Friday at TD Arena on the College of Charleston campus, with President Barack Obama scheduled to deliver the eulogy. Burial will take place afterward at St. James African Methodist Episcopal Church in Marion.
Services for Sharonda Coleman-Singleton will be held Thursday at the Mt. Moriah Missionary Baptist Church in North Charleston. A viewing will take place from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m., followed by an Ivy Beyond the Wall ceremony, which memorializes a member of the Alpha Kappa Alpha sorority. Funeral services start at the church at 2 p.m., according to Murray’s Mortuary in North Charleston.
A wake will run from 8:30 to 10 p.m. Friday at the Emanuel AME in Charleston. A ceremony will be conducted during the first half-hour by the Alpha Kappa Alpha sorority, of which Hurd was a member.
Hurd’s funeral will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at Emanuel AME, including a burial service at the church cemetery.
The 16 branches of the Charleston Public Library, where Hurd worked, will close Saturday to allow staff to attend the service.

A service will be held at noon Tuesday at Greater St. Luke AME Church in Charleston, with a viewing before, at 11 a.m.
A wake will be held from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Wednesday at Leevy’s Funeral home in Columbia.
The funeral is to be held the next day, July 2, at 11 a.m. at Bethel AME Church in Columbia, with a viewing before, at 10 a.m.
Visitation for the Rev. DePayne Middleton-Doctor will be held from 6 to 7 p.m. Friday at St. Mark AME Church in Ravenel, according to Palmetto Mortuary.
