MANHATTAN, Kan. (AP) _ Stacey Coffey and Lisa McGill combined for 29 points as No. 24 Oklahoma State snapped a two-game losing streak with a 63-53 victory over Kansas State on Sunday.
Oklahoma State (21-5, 9-3 Big Eight) was coming off conference losses to Kansas and Oklahoma. But the Cowgirls’ inside attack of Coffey, a 5-foot-10 freshman forward, and McGill, a 6-foot senior center, proved too much for the outside shooting of Kansas State’s Kelly Moylan.
Moylan hit 6 of 10 3-pointers, tying school single-game records for 3- pointers attempted and made. He finished with 20 points.
Coffey’s basket with six minutes left gave Oklahoma State a 54-48 lead. Kansas State had pulled to 52-48 on a basket by Gretchen Bertrand and a 3- pointer by Moylan.
The Cowgirls shot 51 percent during the first half to take a 33-26 lead at the break. They cooled off in the second half, hitting only 34 percent, but still outscored the Lady Cats 30-27 after halftime.
Kansas State’s record dropped to 9-15 overall, 1-12 in the Big Eight.
