LOCAL COLLEGE: Misericordia University Earns Win Over Wesley

Mid Valley graduate Jason Kenny scored 29 points to lead five players in double figures as Misericordia University earned a 92-87 win over Wesley in a men’s basketball game Wednesday.

In a game that had 20 lead changes, Kenny converted a three-point play with less than a minute to go put the Cougars ahead for good. He added four free throws in the final 20 seconds.

Noah Rivera and Lakeland graduate Tony Harding each scored 17 points for the Cougars (5-5), Stone McCreary had 14 points and Valley View graduate Alec Rodway had 10 points and 13 assists.

Emory & Henry 69, Keystone 61

At La Plume, Daniel Spencer and Tharon Suggs each scored 17 points to lead Emory & Henry College.

Ray Mills had 16 points for the Giants (0-10) and Jeremy Jordan had eight points and 12 rebounds.

Cecil 88, Lackawanna 81

At North East, Maryland, McKale Williams hit six 3-pointers and scored 29 points to lead Cecil College.

Talek Williams had 24 points for Lackawanna (7-6) and Isaiah Wiggins had 21 points and seven rebounds.

Women’s basketball

Kyla Smith scored 16 points to lead Lackawanna College to its eighth straight win, 82-45, over Cecil College.

Smith and Scranton graduate Ciaira Loyd combined for 14 points in the first quarter as the Lady Falcons (9-3) raced out to a 24-10 lead.

Shaylah Green had 13 points for Lackawanna. Loyd finished with 12 points.

Misericordia 72, Lebanon Valley 69

At Annville, Tessa Zamolyi had 19 points and 15 rebounds and unbeaten Misericordia University held on for the win.

Japriya Carroll had 15 points for the Cougars (10-0) and Western Wayne graduate Rachel Carmody had 14 points and eight rebounds.
