JERUSALEM (AP) _ A gunman opened fire in downtown Jerusalem before dawn Sunday, wounding a number of people, police said.
The attack took place near Bikur Holim Hospital, near the center of the city. Israel Army Radio said it was a gunfire attack by a Palestinian.
Police and rescue teams were heading to the scene, the radio station said.
Jerusalem police spokesman Kobi Zrihen said an armed man in the area of the hospital opened fire in all directions. ``Apparently this is a gunfire terror attack,″ he said.
Israel Radio reported that two people were wounded, one seriously, but it was not clear whether it was a terror attack.
