Riverton wrestlers charged in hazing attacks on teammates
CASPER, Wyo. (AP) — Two Riverton High School wrestlers have been charged with unlawful contact in hazing attacks on younger teammates earlier this year.
The Casper Star-Tribune reports the two 17-year-olds were charged with two misdemeanor counts each for what authorities say occurred on a school bus in January while the team was in Natrona County traveling for a meet.
According to court documents, the wrestlers are accused of holding down teammates and using their fingers to anally penetrate them through their clothes.
The Fremont County School District No. 25 expelled three wrestlers Monday for assaulting and sexually harassing eight teammates.
Natrona County District Attorney Michael Blonigen says he is considering charges against other people involved in the case.
Attorneys for the teens declined to comment or did not return the newspaper’s message Wednesday.
