In the south, biscuits are the best part of breakfast. These were your top five picks for best biscuits in WRAL’s 2018 Voters Choice Awards.

Rise means you don’t have to choose between your favorite breakfast carbs. The fluffy biscuits are custom-made into sandwiches with toppings like pimento cheese, and the donuts are creative, light and tasty.

Open until 3 p.m. everyday, the State Farmers Market Restaurant is known for its giant, fluffy biscuits. You can top them with chicken, molasses, streak o’ lean, eggs, cheese, bologna, vegetables, jam and much, much more!

Biscuitville serves both breakfast and lunch sandwiches.

A Cameron Village favorite, Flying Biscuit serves their sugar-topped biscuits with cranberry apple butter, and breakfast is served all day. The restaurant is also known for its coffee and mimosa bar, lunch and dinner platters and more.

Sunrise, which was established in 1978 in Louisburg, serves up biscuits from a decades old family recipe. The Chapel Hill location is drive-thru only so you can roll through and get popular items like their chicken biscuit and pork chop biscuit.
