Constables host Wounded Warriors during tour of Lake Houston area

May 12, 2019

The Precinct 4 Constable’s office is seeking the support from the community to help them welcome veterans from all over the nation to the Humble Civic Center on May 16 to honor and thank them for their service.

As part of the Wounded Warriors Week, which will be celebrated May 17-19, constable deputies from Constable Mark Herman’s office and other law enforcement will be escorting veterans through The Groves, Summerwood, Lakeshore, Atascocita, Atascocita Forest, Atasca Woods, Walden, Eagle Springs and Humble to see the Lake Houston area.

Residents are encouraged to visit these designated tour spots and give these Wounded Warriors a hero’s welcome by waving American flags and showing off patriotic colors.

“We roll out our best Texas hospitality to each of these brave men and women because it is what we must do,” said a release from Herman’s office. “They need time away from hospitals and therapy and constant reminders of what they lost. Most of them never received a “welcome home” as they went from the battlefield to the hospital to home, so we give it to them. Warrior’s Weekend gives them the opportunity to bond with each other and talk about the difficult battles they face every day. But most of all, it lets them know that we have not forgotten them.”
