CEDAR CITY, Utah (AP) _ Don Faux scored 13 of his 19 points in the second half as Southern Utah overcame a sluggish start to defeat Western Oregon 70-58 Monday night.

Justin Wilson led WOSC (18-6) with 12 points.

SUU (7-14) shot only 33 percent in the first half and led 32-29 at the break. Paced by Faux, SUU shot 68 percent in the second half.

Tarvish Felon scored 13 points, Brad Bodily had 11 and Mark Schwiegert added 10 points for the Thunderbirds.

Trevor Flaherty scored 11 points for WOSC and Matt Jones and Dan Hoffman each had 10 points.

Western Oregon, which had a six-game winning streak snapped, tied the game at 38 four minutes into the second half. Faux scored two consecutive baskets to give SUU 42-38 lead and the Thunderbirds never trailed again.
