Kawamura Leads in Tsuruya Open

KAWANISHI, Japan (AP) _ Masayuki Kawamura had a 9-under-par 63 Friday to take a six-stroke lead after the second round of the Tsuruya Open.

Kawamura started the second round with four straight birdies, added two more on the front nine and three after the turn on the 6,847-yard Sports Shinko Country Club Yamanohara course.

American Todd Hamilton, who had a 5-under-par 67, is tied for second at 7-under with Japan’s Tsukasa Watanabe. They were followed at 138 by five players, including Brian Watts of the United States and Andre Stolz of Australia.
