MOUNT VERNON, N.Y. (AP) _ Chip Kron scored three second-period touchdowns on runs of 1, 7 and 1 yards before suffering strained ligaments in his right knee as Fordham crushed winless Iona 55-7 Saturday in a Liberty Conference football game.

Kron, the leading career rusher for the Rams, 3-5 overall and 2-1 in the league, was injured in the third period. He may be lost for the season. Kron gained 95 yards in 16 carries before leaving.

Quarterback Kerry Dusharm of Fordham threw a 39-yard scoring pass to Bill Hollowell and wound up completing 8 of 11 passes for 111 yards.

The Gaels, 0-9 overall and 0-4 in the conference, have lost 23 games in a row over three seasons. They avoided a shutout when Chuck Dilullio ran 42 yards for a touchdown in the second quarter.
