Fantasy Football: Week 11 TE rankings

November 16, 2018

Through all of the trials and tribulations at the TE position this fantasy season, we could always fall back on George Kittle. So with Kittle resting in Week 11, what’s the point of going on any further? Three words: Eric flipping Ebron.

We already dedicated one fantasy rankings intro to Ebron, you say? Sorry (not sorry). All he’s done since then is score five total touchdowns in four games, moving past Kittle into the TE3 overall scoring slot, so forgive us for beating an alive and well horse.

Ebron has 10 total touchdowns, only two shy of the tally in his first four seasons combined and more than any NFL pass catcher not named Antonio Brown. Of all the silly stats from this NFL season, this has to be near the top — especially when considering the fact that he’s basically a part-time player with Jack Doyle back in the fold.

In 38 snaps over his past two games, Ebron has four touchdowns, including a hat trick vs. the Jaguars in Week 10, when he even scored as a runner. In his first two games as a Colt, when he tallied 53 combined snaps, Ebron scored twice. We think it’s safe to call this a trend.

TD dependent or not, Ebron is getting the nod ahead of Doyle this week, when the Colts host the Titans, who — wait for it — are one of only two NFL defenses not to allow a touchdown to the TE position this season. Tennessee also has permitted a league-low 295 receiving yards to opposing tight ends.

Lest we forget, Tennessee held the pick immediately after Ebron went No. 10 overall to Detroit and began a run of star selections with Taylor Lewan. The next three picks were Aaron Donald, Odell Beckham and Kyle Fuller. After Ryan Shazier at No. 15, two more Pro Bowlers had their names called, Zack Martin and C.J. Mosley.

That’s fine. Eric Ebron’s revenge tour rolls on...
