Fitzgerald comments on governor elect’s plans
MADISON -- Senate Majority Leader Scott Fitzgerald, R-Juneau, released a statement after Gov.-elect Tony Evers’ announcement that he plans to raise taxes on Wisconsin small business owners and farmers.
“While it’s encouraging that Gov.-elect Evers has decided not to do away with the Wisconsin Economic Development Corp., I’m deeply concerned over his plans to hike taxes on Wisconsin’s small business owners and farmers before he’s even sworn into office,” Fitzgerald said. “With Republican leadership in the Legislature, our state’s tax burden is at a 50-year low -- we will continue in our commitment to keeping taxes low for hardworking families and making sure that Wisconsin stays open for business.”
Fitzgerald represents the 13th Senate District, which covers portions of Dodge, Jefferson, Waukesha, Washington, Dane and Columbia counties.
