Former Wyoming school bus driver sentenced for sex assault

LARAMIE, Wyo. (AP) — A former school bus driver in Wyoming has been sentenced to 18 to 20 years in prison for sexually assaulting two underage teens.

The Laramie Boomerang reports 21-year-old Matthew Allyn Strom was sentenced Monday after pleading guilty to two counts of second-degree sexual assault.

According to court documents, a teen told Laramie police that he was drugged and sexually assaulted after spending time with Strom in February 2017. The second victim told police of sexual encounters with Strom that began in August 2016.

Strom told the court that he takes responsibility for his actions, saying “I can never begin to apologize enough for all the harm I’ve caused.”

Strom was previously employed as a bus driver for Albany County School District No. 1 in Laramie.
