LENHARTSVILLE, Pa. (AP) _ Three people were found shot to death outside a restaurant Saturday, and witnesses described the shooting as a double murder-suicide.

Police found a man and woman shot to death on a sidewalk; another man was found shot dead inside a vehicle.

State police identified the deceased as Kent D. Leiby, 53, of Leesport; Marilyn G. Leiby, 51, of Wyomissing, and James A. Bealer, 43, of Wyomissing. Police did not say who shot whom.

However, Steve Stetzler, owner of the Deitsch Eck Restaurant in this eastern Pennsylvania town, said he believed the gunman was the woman’s ex-husband and the man found in the vehicle was her male friend.

He said the woman and her male companion had just pulled up to the restaurant when the shooting occurred. Some customers ran to her aid.

``She (the injured woman) said to the customer, ’My ex-husband shot me,‴ Stetzler said.

David Rump, who was across the street from the restaurant when the shooting happened, said the gunman, while still in his minivan, shot a man in another vehicle and then backed up. He got out of the minivan and approached the woman, who had already been shot in the ankle and was slumped against the restaurant.

``The lady’s ... pleading for help: ’He’s going to shoot me. Help me, please,‴ Rump said. He said he and two diners stood helplessly nearby as the gunman, who Rump described as well-dressed, fired twice at the woman’s chest.

The gunman then shot himself, Rump said.
