Havasu man arrested on suspicion of making threats
A Lake Havasu man was arrested for threatening to kill three individuals with a nail gun.
Havasu officers responded to calls on Nov. 6 saying that 45-year-old John Andrew Benedict had made threatening statements toward three unidentified people.
According to police reports, the three witnesses said Benedict made multiple threats to shoot them with a nail gun for keeping him awake the night before. When first confronted by officers, Benedict allegedly stated that he did not threaten to hurt anyone and that he had been having a bad day. After he was taken to the police department, Benedict allegedly admitted to making comments about shooting someone with a nail gun because he was angry, but he perceived it as a minor threat. Officers told Benedict that he would be charged with domestic violence threats.
Benedit faces a misdemeanor charge of making threats.
