Weight Watchers: 2Q Earnings Snapshot
NEW YORK (AP) _ Weight Watchers International Inc. (WTW) on Monday reported second-quarter profit of $70.7 million.
On a per-share basis, the New York-based company said it had profit of $1.01.
The results surpassed Wall Street expectations. The average estimate of six analysts surveyed by Zacks Investment Research was for earnings of 90 cents per share.
The weight-loss program operator posted revenue of $409.7 million in the period, falling short of Street forecasts. Five analysts surveyed by Zacks expected $412.3 million.
Weight Watchers expects full-year earnings to be $3.10 to $3.25 per share.
Weight Watchers shares have more than doubled since the beginning of the year. In the final minutes of trading on Monday, shares hit $92.22, more than doubling in the last 12 months.
