The Oilers open their season Sept. 18 against Westminster.

″I wanted a game, though, before we played Westminster. I didn’t want an open date. That would have been the worst thing that could have been to go all week with nothing to do and then get ready for Westminster.″

Live racing will be added Wednesdays, which are normally dark, and Sundays will feature simulcast-only cards starting Nov. 7.

The new schedule will save the track money. Employees are paid overtime when they work Sundays.
