North Allegheny hosting activity-filled weekend to mark homecoming

October 3, 2018

The 247-member North Allegheny Tiger Marching Band, which appeared at the 63rd annual Kentucky Derby Pegasus Parade in May, will perform the half-time show at homecoming on Friday, Oct. 5, 2018.

The North Allegheny School District will kick mark homecoming weekend with an array of activities starting on Friday.

Between 3:30 and 6:30 p.m., food trucks will be set up at the senior high school campus and cupcakes will be available for sale by members of NA Tiger Thon.

A parade featuring floats and the homecoming court candidates will begin at 5:45 p.m. The parade theme is “Midnight in Paris” and will feature approximately a dozen student-organized floats along with the homecoming court candidates.

The parade will loop around the school campus twice, and each float and court candidate will be announced when passing the front of the school.

The varsity football game between the NA Tigers and the Butler Golden Tornado kicks off at 7:30 p.m.

The halftime show will be performed by the North Allegheny Marching Band and include the crowning of homecoming king and queen.

Alumni who attend the event can receive a free mug of warm apple cider at the alumni tent.

Homecoming will continue on Saturday with student dances at the intermediate and senior high schools.
