Madison County Commissioners again ponder purchase of new building
NORFOLK - Discussion continued Tuesday at the Madison County Board of Commissioners meeting on the county potentially acquiring a building currently for sale on Bonita Drive just outside of Norfolk.
Norfolk Realtor Bob Hupp was at the meeting to speak to the board about the building and what they would want to do.
Hupp said the building is a little over 7,000 square feet in size with a good chunk of the square footage being the garage, has three bedrooms, a kitchen, and adequate parking.
Commissioner Ron Schmidt thinks the county should hold off on making any decisions about it right now.
“We haven’t sat down on the Daycos building yet about how we are most efficiently using it. To do anything before we do that would be neglecting the county. I really think that we need to make sure that we are getting the best bang for our buck out of the Daycos building. I don’t want to give anyone the impression that we’re ready to buy that building because we haven’t done due diligence on the Daycos building.”
The board agreed that they will continue to weigh their options on the property.
