Police: Man To Face Charges After Hitting Scranton House With Car

SCRANTON — A man who police say hit a house and then fled the scene over the weekend will face charges.

Eugene Burdett, 55, of Scranton, will be charged with accidents involving damage, careless driving and related counts stemming from an incident on Saturday, city police Lt. Marty Crofton said.

Police responded to 424 Genet St. at about 7:15 p.m. that evening to find a car had hit the building. The driver of the vehicle fled the scene. Police later identified the driver as Burdett, Crofton said.

No injuries were reported after the collision, Crofton said.
