Police find abandoned truck belonging to man killed in drive-by shooting

May 10, 2019

After Jason Allison, 35, was shot and killed in a drive-by shooting last week, someone drove his Red Ford F150 truck away from the scene.

Spokane Police Department detectives tracked down the truck Monday to an impound lot through an online database and collected fingerprints and DNA samples, according to court documents. They are also looking for Allison’s cellphone and wallet, according to court documents, but it’s not clear if they were located.

Before detectives tracked down the truck, employees at Apple Valley Dental at 2929 N. Market St. found the truck abandoned in their parking lot the day after the shooting, according to court documents. They had it towed by Evergreen State Towing, having no idea that it was involved in a homicide.

When detectives found the truck, it appeared to have been hit by a bullet in the upper drive side door frame.

The investigation into Allison’s death is ongoing, and police are searching for three unidentified men who were seen on surveillance footage the night of the shooting.
