Juventus Moves Into First Place
TURIN, Italy (AP) _ Alessandro Del Piero scored the go-ahead goal as Juventus of Turin defeated Fiorentina 2-1 Saturday and moved into first place in the Italian League.
David Trezeguet put Juventus ahead in the 11th minute with a spectacular left-footed shot but Adriano tied it three minutes later. Del Piero beat goalkeeper Alexander Manninger in the 30th minute.
Juventus (13-2-8) has 47 points, two ahead of AS Roma (12-1-9), which is at Brescia (5-9-8) on Sunday. Internationzale of Milan (12-3-7), third with 43 points, plays Sunday at Verona (9-8-5),
In Saturday’s other game, AC Milan was held to a scoreless tie by visiting Atalanta of Bergamo. AC Milan is 0-1-5 in its last six games.
