HUNTINGTON—A cross country bicycle journey will make a visit to Huntington, Wednesday Aug. 1. The Ability Experience will be met with a police escort near Camden Park at 11:30 a.m. where they will make their way to City Hall to be welcomed by the City of Huntington.
The Abilities Experience/Journey of Hope Trans-America team started their journey in Seattle during the beginning of June. As they ride into the West Virginia they plan on spending their evening at Mountain State Centers for Independent Living in Huntington with consumers and staff sharing their experience before continuing their trip on Thursday, Aug. 2.
They are set to arrive to cross country destination of Washington DC on Aug. 11.
The Ability Experience’s vision is to “Create a community, one relationship at a time, where the abilities of all people are recognized and valued.
The Abilities Experience has raised more than $500,000 annually for people with disabilities since it began in 1987.
Over the past 15 years the young men have worked to raise money and awareness for Mountain State Centers for Independent Living in
