BISMARCK, N.D. — Sentencings this month have been delayed for climate activists who vandalized oil pipelines in North Dakota and Montana in October 2016, while connected court cases in Minnesota are on hold while prosecutors appeal an unusual judge’s ruling. SIOUX FALLS, S.D. — Three Native American tribes in the Dakotas have sued opioid industry players in federal court, alleging they sold addictive drugs without warning of their dangers. The lawsuit from the Rosebud, Flandreau and Sisseton-Wahpeton Sioux tribes is led by two former U.S. Attorneys and follows more than 70 similar cases filed around the country. UPCOMING: 300 words.
