Flags at half-staff for Robert Nelson
CHARLESTON — West Virginia Gov. Jim Justice on Monday ordered all U.S. and West Virginia flags displayed at the Capitol complex in Charleston and all state facilities throughout Cabell County be lowered to halfstaff on Tuesday, March 19, in commemoration of Robert R. “Bobby” Nelson, who died on March 14.
Nelson served as a delegate in the West Virginia House of Delegates from 1965 to 1970 and served as a senator in the West Virginia Senate from 1971 to 1985. From 1985 to 1993, Nelson served as mayor of Huntington.
