Man stabbed in South Portland, Maine

SOUTH PORTLAND, Maine (AP) — South Portland police say they’ve located a suspect in the stabbing of a 39-year-old man.

The victim, a resident of South Portland, was stabbed late Friday night and taken to Maine Medical Center in Portland, where he was treated for serious but non-life threatening injuries.

Police were called at 11:22 p.m. to 25 Palmer St., where they found the stabbing victim unconscious at the bottom of a stairway.

Several witnesses were interviewed and a suspect was located and interviewed by detectives.

Police say no criminal charges have yet been filed, but the case will be forwarded to the District Attorney’s Office.
