Say thank you to employees with contribution to Community Christmas Card

December 7, 2018

Christmas is the season to say thank you, and employers can show their appreciation for the people who work hard all year long and help students in Aiken County Public Schools at the same time for just a small donation.

For $1 each, companies and businesses can proudly list their employees’ names in the Christmas Day issue of the Aiken Standard in the second Community Christmas Card.

All the money raised by the holiday greeting, 100 percent of the proceeds, will be divided among Aiken County Public Schools to support students who need help to pay for eyeglasses, shoes, coats, school supplies or services throughout the rest of the school year.

To make a contribution online, visit tinyurl.com/2018donateaiken. Contributors should include their names and list the names of their honorees in the comments section on the site.

All contributions will be set up in an easily accessed fund, and school counselors can use the money to meet the needs of their students immediately. The Community Christmas Card donations will be there for counselors to use when they see an opportunity to improve a child’s chances of getting the education they deserve.

Individuals also can make a contribution for themselves, to honor another person or in memory of someone.

In addition to online donations, the Aiken Standard also will take contributions by mail and phone.

To give by mail, legibly write the names to be signed on the Community Christmas Card along with at least $1 per name and mail to the Aiken Standard, 326 Rutland Drive, Aiken, SC 29801.

To place the donation on your credit or debit card, call the Aiken Standard between 8 a.m. and 5 p.m. Monday-Friday at 803-648-2311.

To have your names included in the Christmas Day edition of the Aiken Standard, make your contributions by Dec. 14.

Thank you, and Merry Christmas.
