Motorcyclist killed during predawn crash with truck near NCCU campus

A motorcyclist was killed early Wednesday when the bike collided with a truck during a predawn crash in Durham near the campus of North Carolina Central University, authorities said.

The incident occurred around 6:30 a.m. at the intersection of South Alston Avenue and Lawson Street, police said. The rider of the motorcycle died at the scene, a police spokeswoman said.

Authorities said the victim’s relatives have been notified but they have not yet released the victim’s identity.

Investigators have not yet said publicly who was at fault in the crash or if charges would be filed.
