3-alarm fire in Bridgeport building on Madison Avenue
BRIDGEPORT - Firefighters are on the scene of a three-alarm fire at a mulit-family building on Madison Avenue on Wednesday afternoon.
The fire that broke out after 1 p.m., was in the top floors of a large, three-story building at 137 Madison Ave.
Shortly after 1:30 p.m., the blaze was declared a three-alarm fire with more firefighters enroute.
The fire has caused extensive damage to the upper floors of the building.
According to Bridgeport property records, the multi-family building constructed in 1930, has 12 bedrooms.
A building next door was also exposed to the flames.
It is not known if anyone was injured in the blaze.
