Sore Lip Benches Senators’ Captain

October 20, 2000

OTTAWA (AP) _ Senators captain Daniel Alfredsson is questionable for Saturday’s game against the Atlanta Thrashers with a sore right hip.

Alfredsson skated before Thursday’s game against the Pittsburgh Penguins, but decided before the start it was too painful to play.

``We’re hoping that he’s going to be ready for Atlanta, but it’s a situation where we’re going to have to see on Saturday,″ Senators coach Jacques Martin said.

Tough guy Andre Roy was inserted into the lineup Thursday and used on the fourth line with Mike Fisher and Colin Forbes.

Rookie Martin Havlat, who had been playing with Fisher and Forbes, moved up to the right wing on a line with Vaclav Prospal and Rob Zamuner. Havlat also saw duty on the power play.
