Carter in doubt for rest of Rugby Championships
WELLINGTON, New Zealand (AP) — All Blacks flyhalf Dan Carter may miss the rest of the Rugby Championships after suffering a shoulder injury during his team’s bruising 29-15 win over the Springboks on Saturday.
Carter left the field in the 16th minute of the Eden Park match with an injury to his AC joint suffered in a tackle which earned Springboks hooker Bismarck du Plessis the first of two yellow cards.
All Blacks head coach Steve Hansen said it was not yet certain how long the 31-year-old Carter will be out of action but similar injuries required a four to six week recuperation.
That would mean Carter would miss New Zealand’s forthcoming matches against the Pumas in Argentina and Springboks in South Africa.
