Police Search For Missing Man, 89, With Dementia

NESCOPECK — State police are searching for a missing elderly man who left his Nescopeck home to get pizza Saturday evening and never returned. Carl R. Dietterick, 89, the missing man, suffers from early stage dementia and might not remember where he is, police said in a news release. Dietterick’s wife told police he has never done this before and she fears he is driving around, not knowing where he is going. Dietterick was last seen leaving his 5th Street home at 6 p.m. Saturday. He is described as 6’2” tall, weighing 200 pounds, with white hair and brown eyes. He left home wearing a gray or dark blue T-shirt, a gray thin jacket, blue jeans and white sneakers. Dietterick was driving a red Ford Ranger, with PA registration tag YAJ6418. The truck has a two-toned cap with a Froggy 101 sticker on the back. Anyone with information is asked to call state police at Shickshinny, at 570-542-4117. — ERIC MARK
