L'ESPEROU, France (AP) _ Three-time Tour de France champion Lance Armstrong won the Midi Libre on Sunday, finishing fourth in the 107-mile final stage.

Armstrong had an overall time of 19 hours, 22 minutes and 36 seconds in the five-stage race, 9 seconds ahead of runner-up Igor Gonzalez de Galdeano of Spain. The U.S. Postal Service rider started the day in first place and finished the final stage 27 seconds behind winner Laurent Paumier.

Paumier won the leg from Anduze to L'esperou in southern France in 4:37.4.

Portugal's Jose Azevedo was third overall, 45 seconds behind Armstrong. Christophe Moreau placed fourth, 54 seconds behind.
