WIMBLEDON, England (AP) _ Defending champion Lindsay Davenport reached the Wimbledon final again, defeating 17-year Australian Jelena Dokic to set up a Saturday showdown with Venus Williams.

Davenport, who will be after her fourth Grand Slam title, defeated Dokic 6-4, 6-2 in just over 50 minutes on Thursday. The Californian controlled the match with her big serve and made fewer groundstroke errors than her younger opponent.

The young Australian was unseeded going into Wimbledon and topped her surprise debut last year at the All England Club, when she upset top- seeded Martina Hingis in the first round and reached the quarterfinals before losing to American Alexandra Stevenson.

Davenport defeated Steffi Graf in last year's final for her first Wimbledon singles crown.

Venus Williams reached her first Wimbledon final with a 6-2, 7-6 (3) victory over younger sister Serena.
